This specification describes the technique standards, test methods and precaution notes of laminate type( Lithium ion) LiFePO4 rechargeable cell, manufactured by SHENZHEN TOPBAND BATTERY CO.,LTD.

2. Electrical Charateristic

2.1 Standard testing conditions

2.1.1 All performance tests is required to be conducted at temperature:25℃±5℃,Humidity: 15%~90% RH,Atmospheric pressure: 86 kPa~106 kPa.

2.1.2 Unless other special instructions, the tested product is required unused within one month after outgoing.

2.2 Standard charge mode

The “Standard charge” means at an ambient temperature of 25±5℃, the cell was discharged with 0.5C constant current to cut-off voltage 2.4V,standing 1 hour. Then charged it with 0.5C constant current to 3.65V, then change into constant charge mode, Until the charge current down to 0.05C, then stop charging and store it for 1h.

3. Safety Test

All tests below are carried out on the equipment with forced ventilation and explosion-proof device. Before test, all cells are charged in accordance with 4.2, and stored 24h prior to test.

Then the cell is short-circuited by connecting the positive and negative terminals with a wire for 10min, the wire has a maximum resistance load of 5mΩ, then observe it for 1h.

3.2Over charge TestNo fire, no explosionThe cell was charged in accordance with 4.2, charged at 1C constant current till the voltage reaches the 1.5 times of the specified end-off charge voltage, or the charge time reaches 1h, then stop charge, and observe for 1h.
3.3Over discharge TestNo fire, no explosion, no leakageThe cell was charged in accordance with 4.2, discharge at 1C for 90min. Then observe it for 1h.
3.4Crush TestNo fire, no explosion

The cell was charged in accordance with 4.2, and

then is placed on the crush machine, the axis is parallel to the crush equipment, and it is crushed between two flat surfaces till the crushing force is gradually approaching 200 kN, or the voltage reaches 0V,or reaches 30% distortion, then observe it for 1h.

3.5Impact TestNo fire, no explosion, no leakageThe cell was charged in accordance with 4.2, and stored for 30 min.
The positive and negative poles of the battery are freely dropped onto the concrete floor from a height of 1.5 m; observe it for 1h.
3.6Nail TestNo fire, no explosion

  2. use φ5mm~φ8mm high temperature

resistance steel needle, with speed of 25±5mm/s, to go through the cell from vertical direction of pole plate, the penetrate position should be close to the geometric center of plate surface, the steel needle remains in the cell;

  1. Observe it for 1h.
3.7

Heating Test

(130℃)

No fire, no explosion

The cell was charged in accordance with 4.2, and

Put it in a heated circulating air oven. The temperature of the oven is raised at a rate of 5℃ per minute to 130±2℃ and remain for 30 min.

3.8Seawater immersionNo fire, no explosion

The cell was charged in accordance with 4.2;

Immerse the cell in a 3.5% NaCl solution (mass fraction

simulate the seawater composition at room temperature )for 2h, the water depth should pass the cell completely; observe it for 1h

3.9

Vibration Test


No fire, no leakage, residual capacity≥95%, Voltage change ≤0.5%, Internal impedance increase ≤20%

The cell was charged in accordance with 4.2, fastened to the vibration test bench and subjected to vibration test under the following conditions:

- The vibration frequency varies at a rate of 1 Hz/min in the range of 10-55 Hz, 90 ±5 minutes in one round trip with an amplitude of 0.8 mm (the entire maximum stroke is 1.52 mm).
- Vibration needs to be applied to three mutually perpendicular directions, vibrating 90±5 minutes in each direction. Observe it for 1h
